On-site Tent Camping

If you want to be in the middle of the action there is ample tent camping on the Fairgrounds and RV camping in the RV Park. The grassy areas are kept long for more comfortable tenting. And the camping area extends right down to the banks of the John Day River. There are eleven showers on site plus additional portable showers will be brought on site for the event. Local vendors will be there with hot food, specialty coffee and novelty deserts. Downtown John Day is just three blocks away where you can do your browsing or shopping, take in the local sights and enjoy the local restaurants.

Off-site Tent Camping

Clyde Holiday State Park

Clyde Holliday State Park is located about seven miles West of John Day on the John Day River. They have 40-50 hike and bike tent sites at $5-10 per night on a first-come-first-served basis and two Tee Pee sites at $35 per night. The Tee Pee sleeps five.

John Day/Canyon City Parks & Recreation RV Park (Located on the Grant County Fairgrounds)

Grant County Fairgrounds has 25 full hook up RV camping sites for $20 a night at the John Day/Canyon City Parks & Recreation RV Park. Call the office to make your reservations. Make your reservation early as the spots go pretty fast.
