Elkton-Sutherlin Ride - by Central Western Regional Ambassador Jim Breen
May 14, 2015
Seven riders including new member Jim McWhirter, enjoyed a typical Oregon spring morning. The temperature was cool and the low clouds, and wisps of fog enhanced the beauty as we rode through the picturesque Loraine Valley. Territorial Hwy and Hwy 38 took us to Elkton where we had a great breakfast at Arlenes Cafe. No one left hungry. After eating we decided to take Hwy 138 along the Umpqua River to Sutherlin. At Sutherlin, after further discussion and a missed turn we were on I-5 headed home.
We decided to save Elkhead Rd for our next ride on May 28th when we will have breakfast/lunch at Tolly's in Oakland. This is another great road on the east side of I-5 so, see you then.
