Events - Month View
The event calendar shows upcoming club events. Select a view then use the navigation buttons to move
between dates. Click on the event to view more information, including the event description, times,
location, fees and any rules regarding attendance; you can also register for events from this screen.
Click on the magnifying glass on the toolbar to see search and filter options.
BMW Motorcycles of Western Oregon
This month we‘re heading west. We‘ll have a great time meandering Eola Hills and crossing the new Salt Creek bridge near Amity. Lunch will be at the Happy Dragon Chinese Restaurant at Spirit Mountain Casino!
After lunch, we‘ll find Fort Hill Road on our way to Buck Hollow and beyond along the edge of the urban growth boundary around McMinnville. From there it‘s North Valley to OR-219 over Chehalem Mountain and home.
We‘ll meet at the Barnes & Noble parking lot in Bend and head out through Alfalfa to Bowman Dam and that nice ribbon of curvy highway along the Crooked River Gorge. Arriving in Prineville, we‘ll avoid the main drag and scoot over to Hwy 380, AKA the Post-Paulina Hwy. Swooping through the curves as we dive down past Eagle Rock, we‘ll rejoin the Crooked River, heading east to Post, Oregon for our lunch break. If you want to ride your own route, you can join us in Post about noonish. There are GS route options that some of you might want to consider.
If you haven‘t stopped in at the General Store in Post, be advised that they serve delicious meatloaf sandwiches and really good potato salad and macaroni salad. The menu does include a few other options as well.
After lunch, we‘ll head back along the Crooked River to Prineville and on to Powell Butte. Chuck & Patrizia Mileur have graciously invited us to stop by their place in Powell Butte for sodas & snacks after our ride. I‘m looking forward to seeing what they‘ve done around their new home.
Plan to arrive at the Barnes & Noble parking lot in Bend early enough for cheerful greetings, tire kicking, and a pre-ride briefing. Kickstands up and clutches out at 10:30 AM.
