CHIEF JOSEPH RALLY -
Join us at the Grant County Fairgrounds, nestled in the scenic Strawberry Mountains, John Day Oregon, for a weekend of terrific riding, seminars, food and fellowship. This historic city is located at the Junction of Hwy's 395 and 26. Enjoy the West’s best riding; gold and cattle country, refreshing mountain passes, painted hills, river canyons, and wide open desert. All this in one day’s riding! Visit the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument or any of four different museums. Begin planning your trip now! Oregon is for Riders! Come to John Day and see what we mean!

Your rally fee covers 2 nights of green grass camping, a Friday and Saturday night meal (gate registered riders will NOT be provided with meals so be sure to preregister), hot showers, seminars, door prizes and organized or individual rides (with route maps).

T-SHIRTS
can be ordered when registering for the rally. Price depends on the size ordered. The rally logo (shown at the left) will appear in the right breast pocket area and will be silk-screened along with "BMW Riders Of Oregon" on the sleeve from shoulder to wrist.

BREAKFASTS
 -
Breakfasts will be available for purchase at the fairgrounds main pavilion building on Friday and Saturday morning. All breakfast proceeds benefit the Grant County 8th Grade Field Trip and the Juniper Ridge 4-H Club.
Stumble out of your tents and straight into breakfast!  This is a great way to “kick-start” your days and maximize your riding time.

This year the Grant Union 8th grade students will be hosting Friday’s breakfast. Breakfast will include a breakfast burrito, with two sides, coffee, fruit juice, and water.  Saturday the Juniper Ridge 4-H club will be hosting breakfast. Saturday’s breakfast will include scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, fruit, coffee, fruit juice and water.

Both groups will begin serving breakfast beginning at 6 a.m. in the main pavilion.

The cost for both breakfasts is $18.00 total.  Having breakfast at the fairgrounds is a great way to support the local community and two very worthwhile fundraisers for these young adults.

Pre-registered ticket holders, will be served first, followed by cash customers until the food runs out!

Cowboy Ride and Lunch at Chief Joseph Rally – Friday June 29, 2018 - Back by popular demand, the Grant County Stock Growers have stepped up to support us with another farm visit and LUNCH (not breakfast as in the past).  In 2018 we will be going on a scenic ride around the back of the Strawberry Mountains then thru Seneca and finally to Izee for lunch (approx.78 miles).  At the Izee ranch will then be served a chuck wagon lunch.  Lunch will consist of custom made, all-beef BBQ brats, home cooked beans, salad, drinks and cookies.  After lunch there will be a presentation on the operations of the ranch with an emphasis on recent watershed improvements.  Please come with a full gas tank as fuel won’t be available for around 115 miles.

Each year this fun and popular event has given the attendees a chance see how an operating ranch works, have a tasty chuck wagon style lunch and a great ride with others to boot.

We will ride (or drive) to the ranch starting from the fairgrounds main gate around 10 am.  Maps will be available.  Lunch will be served around noon by the Stockgrower’s Association and their helpers.

Please reserve your spot early, as the spots are limited and on a first come first served basis (75 maximum - the sooner you signup and pay for your meal the more assured you are of getting a spot

Cost:  $15.00 with proceeds going to financing the Grant County Stockgrowers organization. Click here to register - Space is limited.

Come out and enjoy this unique experience of having a ride and chuck wagon meal at a working Grant County ranch.

GEOLOGY ROCKS TOUR - These two tours are a fundraiser for the Grant County, Juniper Arts Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to promotion of the visual and performing arts and art education.

The tours will feature the landscape, geology and cultural history of Grant County. They will be led by retired John Day Fossil Beds park ranger, John Fiedor, who led the tours at the 2014 to 2016 Chief Joseph Rally.

Each tour has about seven stops and covers about 125 miles, round trip, all on paved roadways. Pull-offs may be dirt and gravel. The tour on Friday will be a repeat of the first tour given in previous years, heading west through Dayville. The Saturday tour repeats the NE loop trip of 2016. The tours will take approximately 5 hours depending on the number of questions at each stop.

There is a participation fee of $20.00 per motorcycle, NOT per person. The fee is a donation to the Juniper Arts Council and is not refundable. The registration for the tours will be handled by the Chief Joseph Rally organizers. Since the limit is 25 bikes per tour, participants should sign up for only one tour, which allows more bikers at the rally to participate.

The tour will begin at the fairgrounds back entrance (near the KJDY radio station); gathering at 11:30 am near Keerins Hall to check in and sign waiver papers. Bring your own refreshments for the road.

TEAM OREGON On-Road ClinicA short, on-road version of the Team Oregon ART course (taught on the go-kart track in Canby, Oregon) is coming to the Chief Joseph Rally. The cost will be $40 and is non-refundable.
Join top Team Oregon instructors in a one-hour classroom discussion of cornering, riding strategy, and technique. Afterward, the group will embark on an optional 1.5 hour ride to put ART techniques to work on real asphalt. There will be opportunities during the ride for group discussion and professional feedback. After lunch (on your own dime), tag along on an extended ride through the John Day Wilderness and Wallowa-Whitman areas.

This clinic is focused on street riding. Bring your questions and your hang-ups – the discussion is wide open. Dual-sports, three-wheelers, scooters and passengers are welcome. Let’s ride!
