And now a word from the Coordinator of the now disbanded Veterans & Families Center Cruise In.
As many of you know I had disbanded the Veterans & Family Center Cruise In after losing our venue at the Valley Catholic School in July. Since I was really the only one to work on it until just before the actual date, I thought it would be too much to move it. But after my “withdrawals” and a request from the Hillsboro VFW Post 2666, I decided to join their team and combine our 6th annual car show with their 3rd annual car show. They had worked with me all five year performing our Color Guard. It will be re-named the 3rd Annual Veterans of Foreign Wars “Memorial Day Salute to Veterans” Car – Truck – Bike Show. It will be a part of their Washington County Salute to Veterans on Memorial Day Monday May 29, 2017and will be held at Hare Field in Hillsboro. I am very excited to keep our momentum going and with this new found help it will be a wonderful event.
I am attaching the flyer. Please put it on your calendar. Like last year, one of our pre-registered folks will be the winner of a 2night/3day get away at the Oregon Coast.
Please help get the word out by sharing the flyer with friends or by taking it to a club meeting. As always we will have a club participation trophy and this year we will have a Bike Club Participation Trophy also!
Like last year, we will not ask bike owners to pay the registration fee if we have the Bike Run again. I’m really sure that Fast Eddie of the Disabled Veterans Motorcycle Club will organize it. He had the help of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Club. Other clubs and lots of independent riders were involved and it was awesome to see them ride in all together with a police escort. (There was no way to collect registration fees at the start of the Ride so we felt it wasn’t fair to ask riders who came to the Show on their own to pay the pre-registration fee of $15 or the $20 at the gate). There will be a donation option of course!
