    Registration is now open!   Registration deadline is midnight May 21st.

    We'll be returning to this popular site where we have access to great paved and GS routes. The group campsite has a large pavilion with electric.  Campground has  potable water, vault toilets, and plenty of space for tents. We have room for RV's and trailers with easy turn-around loop, but no hookups for RVs. Note: there is no cell service here.  We'll be providing a pasta dinner for Friday and hamburgers and side dishes for Saturday dinner.  Breakfasts, lunches, and beverages are on your own. The club grill will be available  for your use and we'll have a community ice chest available. Maps of the local area will be available for route planning. In past years, we've enjoyed watching the wild horses on the grassy slopes near the campsites.   

    Space is limited.  Register early!

    Directions: From Prineville, Oregon: 

    Travel approximately 15 miles east on Highway 26.

    Turn right at the junction to Walton Lake and Big Summit Prairie (County Road 123) and continue for approximately 7 miles.  

    Turn left at BMWRO sign onto Forest Service Road 2610 and cross Ochoco Creek.  

    Turn right at BMWRO sign to enter Ochoco Forest Campground.  

    Continue straight where the campground loop turns right and you will head directly into the Ochoco Forest Camp Group Pavillion.

    RIDE OREGON RALLY 2026

    Located in the high desert of central Oregon, John Day is the quintessential American small town.The meticulously maintained fairground is located on the edge of town along the John Day River.  It offers a large plush grassy field for comfortable camping as well as 25 full serviceRV spaces.  

    John Day, is surrounded by natural beauty such as the Painted Hills, Blue Basin, Magone Lake, Wallawa Valley,  Frenchglen, dramatic cliffs, volcanic mudflows, and the Fossil Beds National Monument.

    A group of BMWRO riders are planning on riding to the Wheeler County Bluegrass Festival in Fossil Oregon.     Top O' The Rockies Rally 2026

    The 54th annual Top O’ The Rockies Rally is the go-to event of the summer. The entire event takes place within the beautifully maintained historic Paonia Town Park, where it has been held for the past 37 years. The BMW Motorcycle Club of Colorado is a welcoming club that encourages riders of all makes and models to take part in this quiet, small town event. 


    Registration price includes: 3 full days of camping, 3 days of nightly live entertainment, motorcycle games, dinner on Saturday night.  For more information visit our Rally Information Page:

    About this event

    BMWRO Riders are invited to this private property near LaPine, Oregon owned by long time BMWRO members Doug & Gloria Watt for a campout in conjunction with the Newberry Event Music & Arts Fest to Defeat MS. This was a stellar event in 2025 and we want to repeat the experience in 2026. Read about the 2025 event in the Sept 2025 issue of the Beemer Beat. Campout Thursday July 23, through Sunday July 26th; the music festival will be on Saturday. Save the date and watch for further details!

    Join us for the annual Keith Mattesen  Memorial Campout.  We continue to honor the memory of our friend and avid rider.

    This year we’ve selected a more user friendly location.  River Edge Campground at 23116 Alsea Hwy which is 22 mile east of Waldport on Hwy 34 just west of Alsea   The site boasts a large, tree bordered area alongside the Alsea River.   It has a large covered group pavilion with water and electricity and paved parking for bikes with room for RVs (no hookups).  A group campfire ring is available if fires are allowed at the time.  Three nights of camping include large grassy field for your tent site, a light meal on Friday arrival of soup and a nice crusty bread,  a Saturday night meal of the Famous Dallas smoked pork, and a continental style bite to get you on your way Sunday Morning.  Additionally, our BMWRO grill and cooking supplies will be available to members.  A maximum of 40 participants for this event so don't delay!  Registration ends Aug. 13.  Lots of great paved and GS riding in the area!  Register on our website.  Event Hosts: contact Carol Dallas at  BMWRO.Secretary@gmail.com or Steve Miller at shuntermiller@gmail  to coordinate camping other than tenting.

    New event this year! Three nights of camping in three different locations from the Cascade Range to the Coast Range and finishing up in the Umpqua River valley. Three hot dinners and continental breakfasts w/coffee will be included. Planned routes (or make your own). We will be starting at the Lost Prairie group site west of Santiam Junction. The next stop will be at Moonshine Park on the Siletz river. The final destination will be Eagleview BLM site south of Elkton. All destinations are provided so if you can't come for three nights, come for two!  We have some great routes mapped out by our resident Route Master sure to bring smiles and surprises to riders young and old well not as young. There will be ample opportunity for detours whether you're looking for a shorter route or one with less pavement.

    Dinners

    9/17  Pasta w/meat sauce, green salad, dinner rolls, dessert

    9/18  Grilled Brats (Chicken or pork),  baked beans(meatless), fruit salad, dessert

    9/19 Grilled chicken, potato salad, green salad, dessert

    Continental breakfast each morning including Coffee, hot water and typical continental breakfast fare.
