Volunteers are everything to our club. These are the people who offer their time to make things happen.  I’d like to thank all of our Board, Staff, and Rally Committee members for all they are doing to make 2026 a fun year for us.  And a special thank you to our Ambassadors who regularly lead events in their respective regions.  As a reminder, our Regional Ambassadors are;

Annual Meeting

The BMWRO held its annual meeting on October 3rd in Agate Beach, Oregon. 18 members attended. A nice luncheon spread was available, followed by presentations from our president and trustees.

Our president Mike gave a recap of the previous year and discussed the success of this year’s Ride Oregon Rally and thanked all the volunteers who made it possible.

Results of our annual election were presented by Carol, with Mike Davis being selected as president, Carol Dallas as secretary and Kurt Miller as our newest trustee at large. Their terms will start January 1st. All other trustee positions remain unchanged.

Carol Dallas awarded a coveted lifetime member award to Joy Cesafski for her continuous commitment to the club and tireless efforts to improve the experience of all club members. Congrats Joy!

VP Dave Chmieloweic gave an update on upcoming activities, look elsewhere in this letter for more information.

Chris Wallace gave a brief update on the Beemer Beat. Always looking for content, however due to issues with the email software please limit photos to five per article.

Finally there was a drawing for door prizes, nifty little display boxes with a GS resting inside. Much thanks to Leesa Davis for creating these.

We adjourned, and reconvened several hours later in the lounge at the Allred Hotel in Nye Beach. We had a beautiful spread of appetizers provided by your club. This was a great chance to visit with other members to discuss previous and future events.

Thanks to Mike Davis for arranging this fun and informative event.

Happy meeting attendees.

Future Events

Greetings Riders,

As the end of this year's riding season approaches, I wanted to share some of our plans for next year.

While not first on the calendar, our Ride Oregon Rally in John Day is our biggest event of the year, requiring the most planning, effort, and participation from the BMW Riders of Oregon. While the rally format will be essentially the same as in past years, each event is unique and heavily influenced by your feedback. As we are currently in the planning phase, I encourage you to share any ideas you have for activities, rides, seminars, or other features. A request for volunteers will go out after registration opens, but please start thinking about how you might like to participate.

Our tentative campout schedule for the coming year is as follows:

  - June 3–6: Chinkapin Group Camp (outside Cave Junction)

  - Late June: Ride Oregon Rally (John Day)

  - August 26-29: Keith Matteson Memorial Campout at the Riveredge Group Site

  - September: Gypsy Tour (tentative)

The September tour is still in the early planning stages. If you have suggestions for routes, campsites, or regions, or if you would like to help organize it, please call or text me.

Best regards,

Dave Chmielowiec
